Promoting our Forum!

I have an idea about how to promote our (awesome) Canadian Forum (because it's awesome) and would really appreciate the help because I really think this site could use a lot more users! So we need you *points in the spirit of all maple leafs to help us promote our forum!

One idea is that we could snag people from the US PS forum like how Badgercat has done in the past (and probably does?), there are a lot of angry beavers on there and I'm sure they would appreciate being on our nice canadian forum rather than boring old US one.

Another is if you ever do go on PS Home and the good ol' "Where are you from?" question pops up and you find someone from our country, please let them know about our site ^_^v I've found a few people this way.

When you're playing online and someone has an obvious Canadian name it's not that hard to drop them a quick line like hey join our (awesome) Canadian Forum I've actually been scouting people out on MAG this way and on other online games.

So let's all work together and make this forum...AWESOME

Thanks for making this post Tifa.

Right now I try to message Canadian members on the Playstation forums (they won't let you advertise for a site in threads). I also message all Canadians I encounter on Goozex, the game trading site. That is how I met Hockeyman80.

I really appreciate the help from everyone that uses this site. What people don't know is how much I put into this site:

- I spend hours each day finding up to date news and happenings in the gaming world
- I spend hours a week putting together condensed reviews for the different games
- I have been going around to the different gaming stores here in Toronto promoting the site and handing out letters and flyers
- I have spend hundreds of dollars out of my own pocket sending our flyer and cover letters to all the gaming stores across the Country
- I even paid for the domain name out of my own pocket

On top of this I have to spend countless hours:

- Working as the Webmaster to ensure the forums are running properly
- Designing Facebook and Twitter pages, and working in photoshop to create banners, flyers and pictures.


I want you all to know I don't make a site off this forum. I do it for the love, and because I want to give something back to my fellow Canadian gamers. Any advertising you see before you log in is put there by the servers I use to host the forums, and I don't get a cent.

I appreciate any help that all of you can give, and fellow Canadians are always welcome here. Let's work together and help build this site. I am in it for the long run as long as people want the service I offer.

it seems that the us playstation forums arent as crowded as it used to be. theres too much restrictions on posting and even uninteresting threads will get locked

That is good to know. I really never liked all the restrictions they put on you there. We should scoop up the fellow Canadians and get them over this way
